The American bass Soloman Howard, singing Fafner in Barry Kosky’s new Das Rheingold at Covent Garden, has signed with the agency AskonasHolt.

Short biography:
Soloman Howard is a graduate of Washington National Opera’s Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program, and the Winner of the Kennedy Center’s 2019 Marian Anderson Vocal Award.
Currently for ENO: Wurm in Verdi’s Luisa Miller (as of 2020)
Recent career highlights include: Simon Boccanegra (Opéra national de Bordeaux); Turandot (San Francisco Opera); Don Giovanni (Santa Fe Opera); Aida (Teatro Real, Madrid).
He works with many of the leading conductors and directors of our day, including Harry Bicket, James Conlon, Gustavo Dudamel, Christoph Eschenbach, Nicola Luisotti, David Pountney, Tazwell Thompson, and Francesca Zambello.

The 19/20 season includes: Luisa Miller for his debuts at the Lyric Opera of Chicago and ENO, The Magic Flute (Metropolitan Opera), Il barbiere di Siviglia (Gran Theatre del Liceu, Barcelona) and a new production of Der Ring des Nibelungen (Lyric Opera of Chicago).
The Anti-Defamation League presented Soloman Howard with their ‘Making a Difference Award’ in 2016 for raising awareness of voting rights through his performances of Philip Glass’s Appomattox at the Kennedy Center and for bringing opera into the wider community. He is a proud graduate of Manhattan School of Music and Morgan State University.
