King Charles III has marked the one year anniversary of his mother Queen Elizabeth II's death, in a short and simple statement shared on social media.
The statement read: "In marking the first anniversary of Her late Majesty's death and my Accession, we recall with great affection her long life, devoted service and all she meant to so many of us.
"I am deeply grateful, too, for the love and support that has been shown to my wife and myself during this year as we do our utmost to be of service to you all."
Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8, 2022 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
The King also shared a photograph of the late queen from 1968, to mark the anniversary of her death.

On Thursday, Prince Harry attended a charity event in London but he didn't meet up with his father or brother to mark the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's death.
Harry's relationship with his family has been strained since he and his wife, Meghan, moved to California in 2020.
The rift deepened over the past year as Harry critiqued the family in a six-part Netflix series and his memoir Spare, a title that alludes to his position as the spare royal son rather than Prince William's role as heir to the throne.
Harry travelled to London without his wife but will reunite with her this weekend at the Invictus Games for injured soldiers, which begins on Saturday in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The Invictus Games were founded by Harry in 2014 as an international Paralympic-style event to inspire military veterans as they work to overcome battlefield injuries.
Prince William and Princess Kate have not acknowledged the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's death on any of their official social media pages.
