Get ready for the ‘roarsome’ awesome dinosaur experience

Families are in for a “roarsome” experience when more than 30 huge dinosaurs stomp into the Black Mountain Peninsula at Acton for the ACT’s first showing of the ultimate outdoor dinosaur event that has been taking Australia by storm, says DinoFest founder, LAURENCE TAYLOR.

With life-size, walking and moving dinosaurs,
DinoFest will show at Black Mountain Peninsula (near Canberra Aqua Park), Garryowen Drive, Acton, from Saturday, January 11 until Sunday, February 2.

“Black Mountain Peninsula nearby to Canberra Aqua Park is an ideal setting for the ultimate DinoFest summer school holidays experience,” says Laurence.

“We deliberately chose Black Mountain Peninsula because it includes a beautiful flat lawn area that suits our walking dinosaurs to a tee and the variety of mature trees work to transport DinoFest visitors back in time.

“We have a cap on participant numbers at DinoFest not just for safety reasons but also because we’re very focused on giving attendees a truly magical and thrilling experience that’s very hands-on and one they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.

“Our guests can meet-and-greet the dinosaurs and our rangers and even capture the experience with photo opportunities.”

“Enjoyed by thousands of families since its launch in NZ and its recent showings in other Australian cities, DinoFest is a unique and interactive, outdoor experience-based event that is family friendly and especially designed for children aged nine and younger.”

Specialising in Tyrannosaurs, DinoFest Canberra – Age of the Tyrannosaur tells the story of how Tyrannosaurs grew from small dog-sized dinosaurs to become the world’s most fearsome predators over the course of 100 million years.

“While T Rex is understandably ‘king of show’, DinoFest will also showcase a range of other popular dinosaurs that attendees can touch, pat, and interact with in a way that is deliberately designed to engage young children as a magical and life-long memorable experience,” says Laurence.

DinoFest features Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus and Carnotaurus two-legged meat eaters, plus lots of cute baby dinosaurs. Raptors, Ankylosaurs, and prehistoric Pterosaurs, which once inhabited Australia more than 100 million years ago, will also make an appearance.

“In addition to the thrill of a 45-minute Dinosaur Encounter with many walking and interactive dinosaurs, DinoFest also includes a Dinosaur Trail with more than 30 dinosaurs enroute including a life-size T Rex,” he says.

“The ultimate dinosaur experience also has a range of educational and highly engaging kids’ activities like a Dino Dig, themed arts and crafts, and ‘feel a fossil’ with real dinosaur bones.
