In a sign he is winding down his future availability for opera engagements, the German tenor has announced an end to his career-long representation by the New York firm of Zemsky/Green.
Kaufmann’s personal manager Bruce Zemsky died in August 2017 and things have not been the same since then. The firm shrunk during Covid and never grew again.
Kaufmann will now focus on his successful new role as a festival director.
Here’s today’s carefully worded statement:
Jonas Kaufmann and Alan Green
Jonas Kaufmann and Alan Green of Zemsky/Green Artists Management have mutually agreed to end their collaboration at the end of January 2025. Alan Green has decided to reduce his activities and Jonas Kaufmann respects this wish. He would like to thank Mr. Green very much for their twenty years of excellent cooperation, collaboration, and creativity. Mr. Green considers this long collaboration with Jonas Kaufmann certainly one the most of gratifying in his many years in the field of Artists Management.
All inquiries for future projects should therefore be directed to the following contact details:
The already confirmed engagements will continue to be managed personally by Zemsky/Green Artists Management.
