Musical Innovation at Wigmore Hall

As the end of the current season approaches, we look forward to 2023/24 at Wigmore Hall and the many debut performances and cutting-edge programmes on offer.

The Hall’s commitment to artistic innovation is showcased throughout the opening week in a celebration of women Baroque composers fronted by Roberta Invernizzi, contrasted with Brooklyn Rider performing works by contemporary female composers, and the 12 Ensemble in music by Anna Clyne.

Composer-performer Errollyn Wallen features in September with her unique style, which inspires and delights audiences, and her compositions are performed throughout the season.

Australian Brett Dean is Composer in Residence for Wigmore Hall’s 2023/24 Season and he conducts Wigmore Hall Associate Artists Apartment House in November, in a programme featuring his settings of EE Cummings’s poetry, alongside music by Schubert and Britten.

Composer Laurence Osborn is celebrated across three concerts in one day in November, including two world premières, a Wigmore Hall-commissioned string quartet, and a new vocal work for the Marian Consort.

Underlining its commitment to new work, Wigmore Hall’s commissioning project, Voices of Today, which supported composers during lockdown, presents new pieces across the season, performed by leading contemporary ensembles and soloists.
