Australian singer and songwriter Alex Lloyd's song "Amazing", used as an anthem for the Paralympics, was originally written about a lost love.
Joined by keyboard player Paul Beard, Lloyd had so much to say about his upcoming concert in Canberra he barely had time to get into playing for Queen Mary and King Fred of Denmark for her 40th birthday.
Alex and Paul Beard treated Mornings to live performances of “Amazing” and “Good Thing”.
Alex shared what it was like to sing at the Māori funeral for the woman who helped him cope with his own mother’s death when he was still at high school.
He told Mornings' Saskia Mabin about managing his dyslexia, receiving an ADHD diagnosis, how pleased he is that his song is used to celebrate the big things like getting married or getting to the Paralympics, and about trying to get Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to his show.
