Rocky Horror cult classic opens screen festival

Here’s Artsweek, HELEN MUSA’s latest sweep of all things arts in and around the town this week.

With just a jump to the left, Southern Tablelands Arts is kicking off its Screen 2025 season, directed by Gary Vehtic, with cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The Q, Queanbeyan, February 9.

The third Ovations Awards dinner will feature the announcement of 2024 award winners from the Canberra and Queanbeyan theatrical and dance communities. Hellenic Club Woden, on February 7, bookings at trybooking.com

A new book, Dream Burnie, will be launched at Smith’s Alternative on February 11. It showcases some of the north-west coast of Tasmania’s most successful artists and an interview with Peter Garrett about Midnight Oil’s song Burnie.

Professors Clare Wright and Frank Bongiorno come together for an illuminating conversation about Wright ‘s latest book Näku Dhäruk: The Bark Petitions and her body of work. Manning Clark House, February 12.
